I haven't been on an aeroplane or any sort of relaxing holiday since i was 11 and went on a family holiday to America, Which i thoroughly enjoyed but can't remember much of the trip. Over the last couple of days I joined a few friends and we took a trip to Rome for a long weekend. I had been to Italy before but not since i was 13 were i went on a school trip skiing for a week which was not the most relaxing trip and took 27h to drive there. But i had no idea how beautiful the rest of the country truly was.
We stayed in a hotel right in the centre of rome, It wasn't the nicest hotel I have Stayed in but the location was lovely. We visited Many places and i can safely say the colosseum has to be one of the best places i have been to and have had the opportunity to see.
Rome was honestly the nicest place i have ever been to, It was boiling hot and the views were amazing. There is no beach near rome so there wasn't many places to just sit back and relax but some places had private balconies with tanning beds which were perfect if you are one of those people who prefer a little *cough naked *cough tanning sesion
This is me and a few friends on the spanish steps in the centre of rome, there was some amazing ice cream shops around here and the biggest MC Donalds just down the road. The ice creams were almost the highlight of my trip, I wish we had ice cream shops like this in England although we barley ever have the weather!
The views on the flight home were almost as gorgeous as the views from down in rome, we took a night flight back and the country looked beautiful all lit up. I would defiantly love to go back and see more of rome. We went to the Vantican City saw the pope went to the trevi fountain and so much more. Im defiantly writing this with the holiday blues and wish i could live in a city that beautiful i can't wait to start planning my next visit, the best 5 days ever!
